Analysis of Tool Setting Methods for CNC Milling Machines and Machining Centers
In the CNC machining process, tool setting is a core basic operation whose precision and accuracy directly determine the machining accuracy of parts, and it is also a key link to ensure the quality of CNC machining and improve production efficiency. The machining operations of CNC milling machines and machining centers rely on program codes to control the operation of the machine tool. Regardless of whether the program codes are compiled manually or generated automatically, the tool setting operation before machining is essential. This requires machining operators to accurately grasp the relationship between the machine tool coordinate system and the workpiece coordinate system, and proficiently use standardized and practical tool setting methods to machine high-quality parts that meet the precision requirements. Combining practical machining experience, this paper sorts out and analyzes the commonly used tool setting methods for CNC milling machines and machining centers, providing a reference for relevant machining operations.
